There are a lot of Filipino communities worldwide. Saipan is the largest island and capital of the United States Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. According to the 2000 census, Saipan has a population of 62,392. The Filipino community in Saipan forms a quarter of the whole poulation. This means that there are almost 16,280 Pinoy living in the community of Saipan.

There are over ten million Filipinos living overseas. A considerable number of Pinoys live in Japan either as a contract worker or a short term resident of the country.
